Grizzly Cooler 60 Review

Grizzly Coolers are handmade in the US and are at the top of the food chain for heavy-duty coolers, fitting name.

For those of us that live in the outdoors and really use our equipment we know that there is truth to the axiom “you get what you pay for” .  If you spend days at a time away from civilization, be it hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, mountain biking, etc.. you have probably been through a few coolers in your life.  The cheap ones break, they need to constantly have fresh ice added to them, both of which are a major pain if you are in the middle of nowhere or just don’t dealing with hassles and are one of those “do it right and be done with it types” here is a cooler for you…

Grizzly Coolers are made right here in the USA.  I like that, a lot.  They are built to be abused, used and to last a lifetime.

We ordered the Grizzly 60 to test and since they have the option to put your logo on it had them put the TGR logo on it.  Very cool indeed.

This cooler is clearly built well and is heavy-duty.  They also hold ice very well, I put a 2×10 lb bags of ice in it and after 4 days in temperatures averaging close to 100 degrees most of the ice was still intact.  And that was with us getting us getting in and out of the cooler for items.

I am confident the Grizzly Cooler will last a long time.

Mine has a quartered out deer in it right now.. it is Saturday, on Monday the deer got put in there with two bags of ice. It is sitting at an angle with the drain plug barely open to allow blood and melted ice water to drain. Yesterday morning before work I thought to myself “I better check the ice”, then said “nah, It should be fine” .

I did check it last night when I got home and sure enough, the ice bags are still 80-90 % intact and the meat cold.

I treasure the meat we harvest, I use it to feed my family.
When people say they don’t like deer meat I think they either had an old rutted out buck or it just wasn’t taken care of properly. I field dress immediately, and quarter out within an hour and the meat cooled off fast. I will let the blood drain out for 3-5 days and then put the meat in the fridge to age for up to two weeks.

My meat is never gamey and is always tender (deer MUST be cooked to med rare or it will be too dried out)

I sincerely believe a high end cooler like this Grizzly is an integral part to the enjoyment of the meat we harvest and consider it a very worthwhile investment.
