Cast and Blast with Capt. Nathan Beabout

Day 1 & 2 of 5, has been decent mornings of duck hunting with lots of air traffic, but weary birds. Fishing on day 1 was slow with zero trout action, but a few redfish falling for the Down South Lure trick.

    Winter Wade Fishing Report

It started off with a great bite as the moon was setting until about 9am. We caught several 18-21″ trout on a variety of baits, from DSL strawberry wine, to Corkys, and topwaters. This mornings bite was over knee to thigh deep mud/grass. We left that bite to try to find a couple trophies. Walking…

Another great pre-front bite. Knee deep grass beds with rafts of bait is where we found our fish hanging yesterday and today. Lost a couple good fish, then finally connected with a stud! Heck even the not so big ones were hungry! Lol. DSL soft plastics and Corkys got the job done.

It got a little cold today, but the fish didn’t seem to mind. These boys hung in there all day and were rewarded with a nice stringer of trout and reds. Despite the dropping water temps, the fish were still holding in the same places they have been for months.

Love fishing this time of year, water temps are down, boat traffic is gone, and the fish are aggressive! Found lots of solid trout on each stop today, and Bobby Sullivan even let a big one get away from him! Lol .

Day 3 these boys ended with a bang! Got on an awesome pre-front bite and was back at the dock about the time it hit. This morning we walked the same stretch and again it didn’t disappoint. Had a few solid redfish, and released 4-5 trout between 21-23″, and in almost back to back cast…

Capt. Nathan Beabout Fishing Report October 20

Change of plans this morning, we were going to head to the rocks, but since the wife couldn’t make it we decided to wade. Tide is still up a bit, but the trout were still holding over knee to thigh deep sand pockets. Topwatersand Strawberry Wine was the bait of choice with Waterloo Rods, and…

    Port Mansfield Fishing Report

It was a fun few days in Port Mansfield.  Redfish were everywhere but trout proved harder to find. Walked a lot of knee deep water sight casting to schools. We did find a few solid trout and one trophy mixed in with the pods. On the road home to try our hand a sight casting…
