  • Winter Wade Fishing for Specks with Capt. Nathan Beabout

On days normal folks would stay home, these boys went and conquered. Each wade we made today out of the Majek Boat, armed with a Waterloo Rod, Fins Braid, and Down South Lure dirty tequila and strawberry wine, we found a bite. Most fish were in knee to thigh deep water over grass and shell.…

    Seadrift Cast and Blast!

With temps warming up and the tide dropping fishing is getting back to what we have been use to here on the Middle Coast. Walking knee to thigh deep grass beds throwing Down South Lures soft plastics, we saw limits of trout and reds today.

Day 1 & 2 of 5, has been decent mornings of duck hunting with lots of air traffic, but weary birds. Fishing on day 1 was slow with zero trout action, but a few redfish falling for the Down South Lure trick.

    Winter Wade Fishing Report

It started off with a great bite as the moon was setting until about 9am. We caught several 18-21″ trout on a variety of baits, from DSL strawberry wine, to Corkys, and topwaters. This mornings bite was over knee to thigh deep mud/grass. We left that bite to try to find a couple trophies. Walking…

Another great pre-front bite. Knee deep grass beds with rafts of bait is where we found our fish hanging yesterday and today. Lost a couple good fish, then finally connected with a stud! Heck even the not so big ones were hungry! Lol. DSL soft plastics and Corkys got the job done.

It got a little cold today, but the fish didn’t seem to mind. These boys hung in there all day and were rewarded with a nice stringer of trout and reds. Despite the dropping water temps, the fish were still holding in the same places they have been for months.

Love fishing this time of year, water temps are down, boat traffic is gone, and the fish are aggressive! Found lots of solid trout on each stop today, and Bobby Sullivan even let a big one get away from him! Lol .

Capt. Nathan Beabout Fishing Report Flounder and Redfish

This husband and wife team had the ulimate adventure. Last night the gigged flounder in Rockport with Rick Hammond of Night Stalker Guide Service. The Report was great, after sticking 4-5 nice flounder they started to become selective and put a handful of good size flounder in the boat. Getting off the water and back…

Day 3 these boys ended with a bang! Got on an awesome pre-front bite and was back at the dock about the time it hit. This morning we walked the same stretch and again it didn’t disappoint. Had a few solid redfish, and released 4-5 trout between 21-23″, and in almost back to back cast…

Had a couple personal best set today, and one first time. The personal best was a trout by 2nd day wading, Mason at 25″ tout and his dad John K Mikkelsen’s 30″ redfish. Manuel Sanchez had the first black drum on soft plastic!   It was an eventful day with many solid fish caught, gonna…

Capt. Nathan Beabout Fishing Report October 20

Change of plans this morning, we were going to head to the rocks, but since the wife couldn’t make it we decided to wade. Tide is still up a bit, but the trout were still holding over knee to thigh deep sand pockets. Topwatersand Strawberry Wine was the bait of choice with Waterloo Rods, and…
